"It makes you an accepting person. Understanding of others' pain. Not just physical, but psychological pain. We live in a society where perfect bodies and faces are set as an ideal. We forget that it is what's inside that makes a person beautiful." — Joe, a patient in The Craniofacial Center
Welcome to The Craniofacial Center
The Craniofacial Center is one of the oldest and largest facilities in the world dedicated to the team approach for the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and adults with cleft lip and palate and other congenital craniofacial conditions. We also provide rehabilitative care for patients with head and neck cancer and those who have suffered craniofacial trauma.
Patients with lesions of the oral cavity/head and neck, TMJ/facial pain, and sleep apnea are seen in The Center's Oral Medicine Clinic. The Hospital Dentistry Clinic at The Craniofacial Center treats inpatients with acute dental problems, geriatric patients, and those with complex medical conditions. All patients undergoing organ transplant surgery and those who will receive radiation therapy or chemotherapy for tumors of the oral cavity or head and neck also recieve dental care in this clinic. |
