Electrophysiology Lab

Electrophysiology Lab

The laboratory is fully equipped to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for patients with symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias (both tachy- and bradycardias). Services available allow invasive and non-invasive electrophysiologic evaluation of all dysrhythmias. Therapeutic procedures routinely performed include EP guided pharmacotherapy, radiofrequency ablation of ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias and device implantation (including AICDs and dual chamber pacemakers).

Atrial Fibrillation Center

Within the Arrhythmia Service, there is specialized interest and expertise in the treatment of patients with chronic atrial fibrillation. We have pioneered the development of a catheter based ablation system which allows the possibility of completely anticipating this common disease. Beyond this approach, we have considerable experience with more conventional treatment approaches, including pharmacotherapy, AV node modification, and surgical procedures. This array of treatment strategies reflects our belief that treatment should be tailored to the individual patient.
