Oral MedicineThe Oral Medicine Clinic within The Craniofacial Center provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with lesions of the oral cavity/head and neck, TMJ/facial pain, and sleep apnea. Our team of specialists evaluates patients with lesions such as leukoplakia, erythroplakia, fibroma, Lichen Planus, swellings in the mouth, and enlarged lymph nodes of the neck. Because the clinic is part of the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, it is able to diagnose both benign and malignant lesions and insure state-of-the-art treatment in a timely manner. Those suffering from TMJ or other types of acute or chronic facial pain are seen for evaluation and treatment. Because our team is interdisciplinary, we offer many avenues of treatment such as oral appliances, pain management, and surgical options. Diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea is done in cooperation with the University of Illinois Sleep Disorders Clinic. Oral appliances may provide relief from snoring, apnea, or other nocturnal breathing problems. Patients may be self-referred or referred by their dentist, physician, health care agency, or medial insurance carrier. For more information or to make an appointment call 312-996-1140. |
